The author guessing the average

3The author predicts

The author doesn’t rate. They secretly guess the table’s average.

Ratings on a line and the guess buttons

4Guess who wrote it

All ratings land on one line. Then pick the author.

Who rated what and who guessed right

5The reveal

See everyone’s rating and who got the author right.

Scoring

  • Guess the author: +10.
  • Author: +5 for everyone fooled.
  • Author’s average guess: +15 within half a point, +10 within 1.5, +5 within 2.5.

Quick example

The take is “Pineapple belongs on pizza.” The table averages 3.3. Nour, who wrote it, guessed 4: close enough for +10. Maria spots Nour: +10.

Tips

  • Write something you actually believe. It’s harder to guess.
  • Rate honestly. Fake ratings throw off everyone.
  • Nailing the average is worth more than fooling people.
