How to play

Writing the opening of the story

1Start the story

The wheel picks who starts. Write the opening, about anything.

Continuing from the last few words

2Keep it going

Each writer only sees the last few words before theirs.

Voting to keep going or end it

3Keep going or end?

After one lap, everyone votes.

The story on a book page

4The reading

A narrator reads the whole story out loud, with sound effects. Each part shows who wrote it.

Picking a favourite part

5Pick a favourite

Heart the best part.

The finished story with its title

6Name it

Suggest titles and vote. Save the story as an image, video or text.

Scoring

  • No points. Just a story nobody planned.

Quick example

“The night the lights went out, Nour heard a knock at the door.” Next: “They opened the fridge and found a tiny door behind the milk.” Then: “It was a pizza delivery guy, but nobody had ordered pizza.” Title: Midnight Pizza.

Tips

  • End your part mid-sentence. It’s chaos for the next writer.
  • Bring back a character from the start.
  • Add a sound effect for the narrator to play.
