About Who Said It

Who Said It is a small, independent party game built for nights in with friends.

The idea is simple: everyone already carries a phone, so why not use it as a controller? One person starts a table, everyone joins with a four-letter code, and the game takes care of the rest: dealing cards, shuffling answers, keeping score and handing out awards at the end. There's nothing to install, no accounts, and no cards to lose down the back of the sofa.

Why we made it

The best moments at any party are the ones where someone says something so unexpected the whole room falls apart laughing. Who Said It is built around that moment. Anonymous answers let quiet friends be the funniest people in the room, and guessing who wrote what turns every round into a little mystery about the people you thought you knew.

Nine ways to play

  • Classic: write anonymous answers, vote for the funniest, then guess who wrote it.
  • Who Is It: a newspaper mystery where the suspect is sitting at your table, and might be you.
  • Two Truths and a Lie: the icebreaker, with points for fooling your friends.
  • Hot Takes: rate each other's spiciest opinions and see how divided the table really is.
  • I Have a Confession: black out the juicy part and see if anyone can guess it.
  • Red & Green Flags: build dating profiles from everyone's flags, then rate them.
  • Chain Story: write a story blind, one part at a time, then hear it read aloud.
  • You Drew That?: draw someone at the table who fits the prompt, then guess who everyone drew.
  • Partners in Crime: give clues out loud that only your partner will get, while everyone else tries to steal the word.

The full rules for each are on the how to play page.

Made with care

  • Built for friends. Tables are private and disappear when the game ends. There's no public chat and no strangers.
  • Fair play. Secrets, like who wrote which answer, stay on the server until it's time to reveal them, so nobody can peek at their phone to cheat.
  • Light on your data. Your name and profile picture live on your own device. Read the privacy policy for exactly what's processed.
  • Hand-made touches. The soundboard effects were made by Khalid, and the profile pictures and hats are drawn for the game.
