Question ideas
The questioner's job in Classic is to ask something that gets everyone writing. The best questions are open-ended, a little personal, and impossible to answer with one boring word. Here are ready-to-use questions, sorted by mood, plus ideas for Hot Takes and Two Truths and a Lie.

Hot take ideas
In Hot Takes, everyone writes an opinion they'd defend to the end, then the table rates how much they agree. The best takes split the room down the middle. A few to get you thinking:
- Breakfast for dinner is better than breakfast for breakfast.
- Cereal is a soup.
- Voice notes longer than a minute should be illegal.
- The book is not always better than the film.
- Board games are more fun than video games.
- Pineapple belongs on pizza.
- Replying “k” is a declaration of war.
- Summer is overrated.
- You should always split the bill evenly.
- Cats make better pets than dogs.
- Sequels are usually better than the original.
- Showering at night is better than in the morning.
- Remakes ruin everything.
- Socks with sandals is a valid look.
- Being early is just as rude as being late.
Two Truths and a Lie examples
In Two Truths and a Lie, you want truths that sound made up and a lie that sounds boring. Here's the kind of set that works:
1. I once got lost in an IKEA for over an hour.
2. I've never broken a bone.
3. I can recite the alphabet backwards in under ten seconds.
The lie? Nobody can tell, which is the point. Mix one oddly specific true story, one ordinary fact, and a lie that sits somewhere in between.
- Use real numbers and places in your lie; specifics make anything believable.
- Pick truths your friends don't know yet: old school stories, family trips, weird talents.
- Don't make the lie the most exciting one. Everyone guesses that.
- Keep all three about the same length so the odd one out doesn't stand out.
How to write a good question
- Ask for a story or an opinion, not a fact. “What's your favourite colour?” gets one word. “What colour would your aura be, and why?” gets jokes.
- Leave room to lie. The fun of Classic is that nobody knows who wrote what, so questions where anyone could have written any answer are best.
- Make it about the people in the room. Questions about the group get the biggest reactions.
- Keep it short. One sentence is plenty. Everyone has to read it on a phone.
- Read the room. Pick wholesome questions with new friends and save the confessions for people who know each other well.
